Are Halibrand wheels a good quality wheel? The reason being i wanted something that looked like A.R. Torq Thrust D's but the dont make them in the right offset for my car and Halibrand is the only other company i've found that makes this style. Any good??

Halibrands are excellent and have been around longer than Americans. Halibrands made the 5 spoke design famous.

Halibrand has been around forever. They began producing quick change centersections for race cars in the 1940s and wheels in the 50s. Their name meant "Quality". If the company is still controlled by the family, the quality is excellent.

Sanborn,i dont think Halibrand is owned by the "family" anymore, but the new owner is still using the original patterns and the quality is still excellent.

Hey 70Challenger R/T.
Where are you getting them from? I'm in exactly the same position as you and just haven't started looking around for them yet. ------------------ 68 Cuda, twisties style http://members.nbci.com/magnumcuda/sprfish.htm 96 Club Cab 4x4, Cummins 5spd |

I remember reading somewhere that they are repro Hali's. They did go out of business.

kchristopher- I've only found one place that carries thier wheels. I think it was called HotRodsUSA or something like that. I have it bookmarked. They carry all the Halibrand styles and other parts too.

I complement you on your excellent taste in wheels, but in spite of the fine quality and wide selection of offsets, there's only one problem.
I was going to get the same wheels for my '69 satellite wagon for exactly the same reason (great look, quality and the right offset). When I called Halibrand, I was told that the foundry was down until at least March. They're all out of the 5-spokes, so unless you can wait, you're SOL on those. They have some other billet models in stock, but much of it is runnig low until the facility gets back in gear. In the meantime, I've gotten 17" Torq-Thrust IIs. It's www.halibrand.com ------------------ |
