Default Some Questions/Suggestions

I bought a 32' Dodge Bussiness Coupe 10 yrs ago and am finally getting around to starting on it. The car is stock now and I am going to street rod it. I have a 350/300hp new chev crate motor that I was gonna put in a 72' Chev P/U but sold the truck.
I thought I would put it in the Dodge, but decided to keep it Mopar. I have never owned a Mopar before and am not up to speed on current engines, rearends, trannys and so forth and what guys are doing with them. I will stay with a small block (would like 300 - 400 hp) but would like suggestions on which one, also various rearends and auto trans that are available and strong enough to mildly abuse. I know this is a wide open topic and will recieve several opinions, but all are appreciated.
Also as far as rearends and trannys go, would like some info on what donor cars have what. Thanks.

For the engine you could go with a 360 crate motor. Mopar Perferomance has 300hp and 380 hp 360 magnum crate motors. he rear end, go with a 8 3/4. They are almost if not bullet proof. The tranny has a few options, 727 torqueflight (auto), 4 speed, a MP 518 tranny (727 with overdrive basicly), Keilser 5 speed overdrive.

This what I would recommend:

Buy a used (or from a wreck) Magnum 360 (rebuild or just run it as is) and find the overdrive transmission A-518 (could buy new from Chrysler). Upgrade the cam (Mopar Performance), heads (new ported R/T Magnum heads from Hughes Engines) and the intake to a single carburetor style (Mopar Performance sells them) intake, and run a 750 Holley Vac Sec.

Ditch the electronics for the lockup on the converter (will need new valve body) and different input shaft (basic swap for any tranny shop). Run a 2500 stall converter with a narrowed Mopar 8 3/4 with 3.91's and 26" tall tires.

That motor with new cam and heads could easily make 400 HP and would get good mileage and be a blast to drive. You could also do this combo with the old style LA 360, but I like to new 360 a lot better because of the roller cam and improved head design.

How does that sound??
