Personally I dont like blowers(6-71 etc) for the street, the reason being to make big power you must run the blower faster than the crank(22% overdrive seems to be adequate)but you cant on the street because it creates tons-o-heat,and requires very strong(heavy) pistons so you must be happy around 1:1 or slightly less, usually your looking at a 100-140hp gain but you lose some low end because your driving that thing slower than it wants.Case and point ,we took a 70 hemicuda to the nats this year,it runs 12.90s at 4600ft on street tires, bone stock except for headers, well we were on our way there from the motel and ran up on a 70 charger R/T with a blown 440,so we catch him from a roll around 50mph and pull him hard initially, maybe 2 car lengths then he seems to match us and just maybe he made up 1/2 a car length by 110mph,Id rather build an Edelbrock aluminum headed BB with 10.5:1 comp and lightweight pistons that will run just as hard w/o all the fuss............PRO.....

PRO, what about a Paxton or similar unit? Or are they an exercise in futility as well? .....djs
