'67 Valiant Post
Anybody know the approximate weight of a '67 Valiant 2dr post? I know my '64 weighs about 2700 lb dry. I'm thinking about buying the '67 to make a Heavy Class Bracket Car out of.

I think the factory listed shipping weight is about the same for the '67. (Slant, no options) '67 was the lightest of the wide A-bodies.

Car Weight
We had Matt King of Car Craft out to a Slant Race a few years back. We ran the bracket in conjunction with the Inliners International Club which had some "record classes" racers were going for.
Matt ran a bone stock 70 Duster, 225 automatic and a 2 bbl., the car ran some mid 18 ETs so we weigh it. The car was just over 3000 lbs (3009) so we went back to the pits, cleaned some junk out of it and re-weighed to 2998, that got him an A Production Class National Record! (Matt decided not to keep-up his membership, so the club dropped his record off their list !?!) SSooo, I say 2950 lbs "wet" and may-be a little less for a strip-down base model Valiant. DD |
