I really dont like the look of the front end of my dart sport. If i changed the hood, bemper and that spash thing at the bottom, should i run into any problems or should it be real easy?
thanks for your help

you need to change the entire front cap to do this swap. i have done this on 2 Dart Sports because i don't like their grille and bumper. both of my cars were 73s and everything went on very easy.

Thumbs up

excuse me? front cap? you mean that i have to change the front grille, bumper, bottom splash pan and hood right. i highly doubt that there would be much different between the 73 and 74 dart sports....
ummm.... so you said it was nice and easy eh? all i need to do now is find those parts off a 74 demon.

Demons were made in 1971 and 1972. The grill will not bolt in to your car without changing the fenders etc...

Here is something you can do...it's a lot cheaper & you might just be pleased with the results. (I sure was...)

1-Remove them gawdawful bumperettes from the front bumper. (I have a nice collection of these should any of you need a doorstop) You can still buy the chrome bumper bolts to fill in the mounting holes-the difference this makes is astounding.

2-Replace your '74 top chrome trim (on the hood) with a '73 one. They are still plentiful in junkyards-the '73 does not have the large trim extrusion on the top & looks much sleeker.

3-Black out the grill - This makes the front of the car look MEAN! & it also visually reduces the severity of the cars "pointy snout" Mask off the chrome trim on the outside of the headlight bezels, as well as the ring around the headlight itself, (take your time) Remove the chrome strip from the bottom of the plastic grill & spray it all with low lustre black. Re-install it and viola! it's a muscle car. This is what Dodge should have done with the 340/360 dart sports to make them stand apart in the first place. Now add the factory hood blackout, snorkle scoop and beltline stripe (not the silly over the roof thing) and the look is complete. Nowwwww...lets take a look under the hood shall we?

Beautiful Demon Marc!! Here's mine, currently undergoing a 340 rebuild due to spun bearing in October, as well as a complete front end rebuild (PST parts).

I may be doing a 4-wheel disc break conversion as well. It has 4-wheel drums right now.
