Well I seem to haveing many problems lately, I had a vacuum leak, got it fixed, bad carb, got it fixed, bad timing, got it fixed, and now the timing is off, and for some reason the push rod in the sxhaust valve of cylinder #1 keeps bending and going bad, whats up with that, why is it doing this?? Its done it twice on me in the last 2 weeks...

The timing thing might be a timing chain thats going bad. As for the pushrod, I'm not exactly sure but maybe a valve thats sticking, maybe a binding rocker arm,or the valve lash could be too tight, if you used the old pushrod, it might have weakened and be likely to bend easier than the first time. So try a pushrod that hasn't been bent (out of a junk yard) or buy a new one(s). Good Luck.

I know this might sound a little wierd but check the straightness of the shaft. we had a 170 bend 3 pushrods before we found the culprit. Not to mention thet the old '63 pushed the 8,000 tach into the red zone running a new [at the time] v6 camaro. But dad does not need to know it was my fault.
