Default Al water pump housing

I just purchased an Aluminum water pump housing foe my 440. I was told to use brass fittings for the heater hose nipples, but, the places I have been to just have the standard replacement. So, what's the hot tip? (no pun intended!!)

just wrap or coat the threads in teflon or something to prevent the two from bonding. thats my experience
