tire pressure

Does anybody have any opinions on how high I can safely run the tire pressure (front tires) on my car at the dragstrip? Its a '74 small block Charger with 215x70x15 Goodyear Invictas. Thanks.

This may or may not be a proper solution, more people can give their input. I would inflate the tire to the recommended pressure. Wet the tire a roll the car over a flat dry surface where you could observe the contact pattern of the tires. Raise the pressure in increments until you start to lose contact surface on the sides. I would be wary about to much pressure due to:
1) heat will raise the pressue more.
2) In a high speed situation, more contact your tires have with road surface, the more control you will have of the vehicle in a dangerous situation.
