We run a twin point on our 273 in the wife's 'Cuda. Ran good till the usual point troubles pop up. Dont have an Accel coil though. We arre going to electronic with in the next week or so. Never any issues with hte distributor othre than typical point related problems when they start getting burned. They it started breaking up at around 4500-5000.? (no tach yet)

Go electronic. I too was afraid of "electronic" ignition. That was because I didn't understand it and aftermarket stuff was pricey!!!!

Go to a boneyard and pickup the distributor, wiring, control box, and ballast resistor. That should run you $20.

Do a search on this site about electronic ignition to get wiring schematics and tuning tips (recurve the distributor). The install is easy and once you set your timing, that is it for YEARS.

The wiring is also in the Mopar Engine book.

Just my opinion. Stay with the electronic ignition. To many problems when the points wear.

I still run a Mallory dual point in my 440 (triggers an MSD 6AL) and I like it for the following reasons...
1.) It's a period piece that's cool in a "retro" sort of way
2.) Easy advance curve adjustability.
3.) Dirt cheap
