Question K&N Filter

I see that many of you have the K&N Air Filter as a mod to your Ds, is there really a big benny to this, or is it just a minor upgrade?

Well worth the money plus it's reuseable so it is the last one you will ever buy

I agree with Kevin. There are two mod's I've done to my 2001 Durango - K&N air filter and Gibson cat-back exhaust system. Together these raised the crusing gas milage 2 MPG. Plus, and this is subjective, I think it pulls stronger and accelerates quicker. No dyno or track times to back that up though. I've run K&N filters in cars and motorcycles for many years. Never found a problem that could be related to the filter and never had a single problem with any filter. Buy the K&N cleaner and oil, follow the K&N recommendations and drive on forever!

Question K&N Filter?

There are two kinds that will work and one will work much better than the other. Be sure you get what you want. There is a simple drop-in, a direct OE replacement, at about $40-50. Or there is a FIPK(Filtercharger Injection Performance Kit) that cost considerably more, but produces more HP. Not sure on the cost, but this can be found rather easily, new or used. The only other difference is that FIPK requires removing the factory filter box, it really is a nice set-up. I don't have a K&N set-up, but I have read they have a tend to crack, don't know if they have fixed the problem or not, so be sure to hold on to your receipt or look that used one over real good. Sorry so long winded... kind of bored
