W-2 intakes
Supposedly W-2 heads requier different intakes. is this true, and if so, why? id like to run a dual plane for drivability concerns, so is there one made? or do i have to look at other heads?
thanks. mike |

The W-2 series has a dual plane intake as well as the single plane. There is also a tunnel ram for the heads as well. All from Ma Mopar.
Edelbrock and Weiand have W-2 intakes as well. Both rock. The bolt spaceing is wider than a standard intake. You can drill out the intake to match. It's recomended that the old bolt holes be welded up. The ports on the W-2 are oval. Some were along the line you'll have to figure out if they will remain oval or the intake can take the grinding to match. I have seen a 6pak mated to W-2 heads. I just don't know about the port work involved in doing the mating. |

Dusterbd, Holley also makes intakes for the W-2 heads. They make a "street dominator" (dual plane) and the "strip dominator" (single plane).

AJ,
Holley did have a Street Dominator, but it was a single plane with a water passage running back from the thermostat housing to heat the intake for better drivability. Mopar has a similar version. Myron |
