Default Springs and Things

72 Duster with 002\003 Super Stock Springs and 2 1\2" lowering to get the correct stance. The lowering blocks are temporary because they look mickey mouse with the springs hanging that low. Could the original main leaf spring be used with the other section to try and get the correct ride height?

Default springs

I wouldn`t take apart the SS.
Flip the front spring upside down, that will lower it 2" to 3".
You`ll need to open up the holes that the spring hangers bolt to and check your pinion angle.
Good luck

I tried reversing the front hangers and the pinion angle was so severe shims would be needed to correct it, that would be an additional potenional for failure.

George;

Do not flip the springs upside down!

Your idea of using the long stock spring is better. Although, those springs are suposed to sit like they do. The company Springs and things could make up a set for you so the car can sit at the desired height and work right. Modifing the S/S springs will be more of a pain than anything.
