Question

Three questions:

1) Is it possible a'76-'78 Chrysler New Yorker would have a Dana rear?
2) If so, do they have any value or are they too wide for most people to be interested in?
3) I have a 9.25 inch truck rearend. The brake hardware needs to be replaced, but the axles and ring and pinion are probably okay. Does this have any value, or are these a dime a dozen in junkyards.

Thanks

I am sure that car never came with a Dana. The truck unit. Is that a 3/4 ton truck? If it is a Dana it is 9 3/4 They have to be cut and re axled to use. Those came in almost all 3/4 ton American trucks. Plus I have never seen a posi one. My 2 cents.

no the new yorker does not have a dana.the rear end in your truck is a 9.25 mopar corp.unit.the only thing i dont like about them is they are c-clip axles and the axle rolls directly on the axle bearing,so when a bearing goes south it usually takes the axle with it. waynebo

My pw has a 9.25 rear end, as did most other 1/2 ton trucks, and mine came with a factory posi.

I haven't seen the New Yorker yet, but the guy says it has a Dana. We'll see, if I look at the car.

The 9.25 truck rear end I got when I bought something else. It is not installed in anything. It has a "3.21" tag on it, and it seems to have posi. I don't have a use for it, I was just wondering if it was something with any value or not.

the 9 1/4 is a BIG axle, but too bad it is a c-clip axle. Many had trac-lock lockers, they're good but dont last too long.

only bad bart about the 9 1/4 is that it hands LOW and is c-clipped.

For the utlimate axle, a full floater d60, or beefed capped 8 3/4.
