Carb help or source.........Holley 1bbl. #1945
Help, I've got a holley rebuilt #1945 1bbl.from a 1986 Ram Van 150 A/T, that the choke plate hangs up so that every morning it has to be closed by setting the fast idle screw on the top end of the fast idle cam. no amount of adjusting the choke and the butterfly plate seems to work. we think the choke shaft is worn to the point that there's too much play and when fully open it sticks there .....(it runs great once it starts) so that in the AM. it needs to be reset... ideas???? or a good source for a new Holley or " Quality rebuild" ?????this carb as I stated ,is a newly rebuilt unit and I think is junk.... anyone had this problem or know of a fix?? Thanks

1945 carb
I just rebuilt a 1945 carb but I didn't have your problem. I did end up having to replace the choke thermostat and the screws that hold the choke plate to the shaft needed tightening. Have you checked to see that those screws are tight.....vic
