Thumbs up BB Edelbrock heads

I just wanted to give some real world results on these heads. My dad had a high 12 second car in the quarter mile, now he has a high 11 second car!!!! With no other changes he dropped a full second. So anyone that runs anywhere in the 12's before you put these heads on might want to think about a roll cage too. They are great heads!!

What are the rest of the specs on your Dads motor? I am using a performer rpm cam and intake on my 440 with mildy ported 452 heads....i wonder if the heads would help my car out that much...

His 440 has the mopar 284 cam, M1 single plane, 950 holley hp, 10.1:1 compression, hooker headers, roller rockers, MSD and a 3.91 rearend. It's a streetable combination that runs very fast. Edelbrock made a great product. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Thumbs up

68 charger ,What were the mods to the steel heads if any also what casting No.s were they. Pure stock vs. bowl port and exhaust ported and combustion chamber cc,s make a big difference. From the gain that your dad got Id, say his heads were bone stock with fat 90cc combustion chambers. I have a set of Eldebrocks 84cc,s shaved down to 72cc,s and am excited to compare them to my 74cc home ported 906,s also shaved .100 witch I am very proud of. The intake ports definitly look like they will flow much better than the 906,s definitly a good design by eldelbrock. The exhausts look comparable , once openend up on the 906,s they look the same. My comparison will go head to head this spring thats why I am interested in the mods done to your dads heads so that I cant get maybe a little better preveiw of things to come this spring.Sport
