Default Carb swap???

I have a fairly responsive 318, 2bbl and I heard I could get better response if I swapped over to a 2100 Autolite. Is there a site that will help me with this swap? If so where? Hey I love Chryslers, but I hate this troublesome 2 barrel BBD. Thanks to all who contribute, later.

I'm not familiar with the Autolite carburetor. If it is larger cfm wise,it will help. One thing you can do,depending on the year of your car is to use a 360 2bbl intake, and use a Holley 2bbl off of a 383.Or just switch over to a 4bbl.One thing I usually do on the newer smog 318's is put a Carter 2bbl from a 1969 318,this works good too.

Default No joking, 4bbl

Do yourself a big favor. Get a 4bbl and a Edel. performer or stock 4bbl intake (For a cheaper price) You will increase not only in power but in your mpg area as well.
The primarys in the 4bbl are smaller than the 2bbl. The 2 bbl is rated at a differant pressure drop than the 4bbl. The 2bbl would appear to be larger than it is if it was rated the way a 4bbl is rated.
A 500 or 625cfm will work great for a replacement of the 2bbl.
I perfer the Carter carb for this. They work great for stock replacement to semi wild set ups.
The 625 leaves room for further mods to the car.

What's it on? If it's spark control or lean burn you may get petter response if there's something wrng with the system and you ditch it, or if it was spark control at one point and it still has the same carb going to a regular bbd can improve it or even a rebuilt if it's an older carb.

If you actually want to get into things a bit a 4bbl would be even more responsive.

I already have a donor 4 barrel intake and carb thanks guys or girls. As far as ignition I am using a GM module and a GM coil from a throttle body and a chrysler truck distributor with 7 degrees of vacuum advance or 14 degrees at the crank. I don't know my mechanical advance yet but I am looking into it. All I know is that this runs tens times better than when I got this computer controlled lean burn crap, which is all gone now. Later!
