Unhappy intake

Sorry about that Rumblefish The 360 didn't have an intake , it's out of a 76 Dodge van, I rebuilt it and stuck it in my 82 D150. Being I didn't have an intake to use I put the 82 318 manifold on it. I think it was a mistake !! It's a stock rebuild with a powermax crane 272 484 cam, like I said with 318 2bbl intake and carburetor. And boy it is a real dog. I just ordered a Edelbrock Performer yesterday , hopefully it helps. THANKS

The Performer intake should work well.
The engine may seem like a dog if the cam is too large for the trucks RPM range.
That cam will probbably want higher than stock stall for the torque converter and 3.91 or 4.10 gears.

60's Moparman, LOL.

Jims451 is right. That cam is a decent size. It should make some real good HP. I don't know if the power max grinds are any different than the older grinds of the same adv. spec they had years ago. I also had a 274/284-/454/.480 lift Crane. I probly have the cam card still. (LOL)
By now you have the intake. How'd it work?
Also what other specs can you give? Good luck.

Default intake

Well Jim and Rumblefish I have changed my plan. I don't have the intake yet so I can't tell you anything about it . But doing some research I 've decided to dump the cam for a Comp High Energy 260. I think the Crane was too big for what I'm doing. This is a daily driver and my tow vehicle.setup now will be with Performer intake High Eng. cam and 3:55 gears and thermoquad Thanks for any and all advise

From everything I've heard and seen the Performer doesn't have any performance over a stock 4bbl intake. It also has 318 sized runners.

The 318 intake would have worked on the 360 if you had been able run a 360 carb on it.

That would be a better cam for a daily driver. The Crane you have in there would work well with a 4bbl, 650 and at least 3.55's. (Depending on tire size.) Nothing less really. Less would hurt.
