How much faster will i go in the 1/4 mile in my stock weight 70 383 auto challenger.Right now it has unported stock valve 516 heads, stock valvetrain, very leaky rusty headers, 3.23 gears , no pinion snubber or frame connectors, 318 torsion bars, XHD leafs, and it has a edelbrock performer RPM which i will keep and i can figure out the compression ratio for you guys if you tell me how far down in the hole a stock piston was on a 70 383 engine.Im going to add polished indy S/Rs with 1.6 roller rockers, new Hooker 1 7/8 jet-hot coated headers with 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust with flowmaster 40 series, pinion snubber, 3.91 gears, frame connectors, and a cam. I'm going to get the compression up to 10:1 somehow, i havent decided on which way to do it. I'm not sure on which cam, but i'm thinking about the hughes 3844 since i've heard nothing but good things about this for daily drivers like mine. Please give me a an estimate on how much time and mph i will gain and any suggestions on the cam and carb and converter. I might also add a T/A hood and make it ram air too. Thanks for any help.

How fast does it run the way it sits for comparison purposes?

Realistically it sounds like a mid to high 15 second car the way it sits. If you make the changes you say, you could easily run mid to high 13's and faster. Plan you project & match parts to work together as opposed to just spending lots of money on nice parts that don't work together. If you use the combinations listed in the Mopar Performance catalog, you will come out real close to their times.

Regarding your stock heads, you surely must know that 70 383 motors did not use 516 heads ! Your motor right now could have more compression than you know because of this. Why are those heads (with the small exhaust valves) on this motor? Has it been rebuilt before? If so does it now use lower compresion pistons than stock?

You still have many question you need answered.
