Coop964x4...Front door speaker help needed
Went to install some Infinity Kappa 6x9's in my front doors and found out they don't fit. According to sound domain they "bolt" right in. Could/should I use a Scosche 1" 6x9 spacer and install these speakers or will the door panel stick out too far? Also what do I do with the factory amp on the speaker? Do I just connect my new speakers to them or do I need to run wires from my head unit, etc? Thanks.

What is it that "won't fit"?Depth? Is it hitting the window track?
I've found that you can space a speaker out about 1/4" nicely. If I need to I'll use 1/4" masonite as spacers. If you need more depth than that it might not work. The stock amp is attached to the stock speaker, you cann't use it on your new speakers. You can use the stock speaker wires if you can determine the correct ones.I don't have a listing on the colors.I normally use a volt meter to find the right ones. You can run new wires to the doors it might be the easiest for you. |
