OD crapped out
My '92 auto is just an old 3 speed now. The TPS voltage at idle is right but when you move the throttle the voltage drops to 0. Put a new TPS on it but the same. Took it to a dealer and they put a new OD solenoid in it. No help and I got mad when they wanted to put another TPS on it as I felt they were either guessing or milking it. Dealers are bad for that here. So I am just going to have to put an enitre new 700 some old dollar OD unit on myself or am I missing something? ANy help would be more than appreciated.

tps
your tps volatge should read 1.0 volt at idle +-.2 it should go up to aprox 3.5 volts + at wot. if it goes to 0 there is a problen in that circut.that od trans relies on the tps.also there was problems with the conector. i won`t do a tps with out doing a connector npackage. i`ll get you the connector # on wed.

cool. thanks. years ago we had a problem w/ that connector and we coudln't get the part, dealers here looked at us w/ a blank stare. Figured out if we jingled it it would last a few hundred miles. It's tru the tranny relies on it. Got a connector some damn way and have a funky but solid slice on it. I have wondered if the splice could be the problem. I really think it needs a new harness from the connector all the way to the tranny. Can anybody give me any leads on finding one? Junkyards are out at least in this area as we drive those trucks until they are completely wasted which means there are none in the yards here period.
