A buddy of mine wants to send in pix of his tricked out Stealth to Mopar Now magazine, but I'm pretty sure it's not considered a Mopar. The engine cover clearly says Mitsubishi.

I guess if it says Dodge on it, that makes it a mopar. But I don't consider them to be real mopars.
Just my opinion!

Yea, its concidered a MoPar. So sad isn't it? The body is a home design, while the engine and drive train are abrosd. I don't know about the electrical system. Thats probroly abroad to.
I remember the T.V. spot they had for it. Got me all happy and screaming YEA BABY! F*&^IN MOPAR!!. Then the truth came out.

Dont be so hard on SR_body. Even the cool Dodge Omni had a VW block in it, and the stage IV turbo cars have Lotus heads on 'em. How many of you guys have Windsor, Canada blocks in your Mopars? I wish I had an All American Mopar too, but my Holley 3310 was cast in Japan!! 'Course I wouldnt brag about owning a '78 Challenger....

Thumbs up

I would consider a Dodge Stealth a New Mopar. I love the Stealth. Have you ever been in one? They are damn fast! I mean Fast! For stock that is! You just can't complain about the car. What's not to like? Other than there spoiler. It may not be a true mopar, but it's a mopar! It's got dodge styling, it doesn't look like the average jap crap, with an exaust noise that sounds like a damn moose in heat!

yep..the only fast ones are the twin turbo model. 90% of the ones driving around are slow. My little brother has a Mitsu 3000 gt VR4 (same as the stealth) twin turbo and it runs 13 flat with the boost all the way down (its a heavy car too...like 3950 lbs) He has after market (bigger) turbos and can turn the boost up by pushing some buttons and can run low 12's.... The twin turbo models are also all wheel drive (they launch HARD on the street!) and all wheel steering (HANDLEs awsome). I've been in the car once while going 181 miles per hour....verified by his buddies speedo on his 1100cc crotch rocket. Hard to believe...but true.

Chrysler uses/used mits. engines in many different cars, the 3.0L V6 for example.

that car was concidered a joint venture.but mark my words, it has dodge writtin on it, just like our muscle cars of the 60&70 there wern't that many made in the 2 years it was around so it will be a classic car in about 15 years. you will see.
