Default electronic engine "detective"

Hi:

I have a fleet of four Caravans in my elderly-transport business. Some of my employees take their vans home at night. I suspect one of them may be using the van for personal stuff after hours. Is there a device I can hook to the car which tells me how many miles are driven during certain hours, etc? Any info would be appreciated.

Dennis

You mean like a second speedometer? An electronic unit might be able to be spliced in. Draw back? Its a second odometer in the car. To defeat, disconect the odometer when found or from disconect the wire from the tranny.
The second a employee takes a ride home, in there mind its theres. Weather using or abuseing it. They are responsable in there minds (or should be) if they crash or have a freind in the car.
Hopefully the respect the ride when useing it after hours.
If it's a problem, detain the van behind a gate that you only have the key for.

These are basically made for trucks but it would be worth asking if they have a model that would fit your needs.

If you have any papper work have them write down the millage on it when they start work in the morning and when they stop at the end of the day. That is what my dads work does for them. They have caught a few poeple doing this and have fired them both.
