I was at the track yesterday and the trans wouldnt do anything in 1st. it worked fine in 2nd, 3rd, & reverse. It was working when we loaded it on the trailer and the night before. I checked the linkage, fine. I also hear a whining noise in the trans only when in 1st. This one was just rebuilt and only had 5-6 passes on it.Nothing was wrong with it before. just had it freshened up becouse I was worried about a previous driveline failure. I've heard it could be something stuck in the valve body, which is a cheeta manual VB, and also that it might be the sprag....thats what I'm worried about!
Any Tranny guys reading this , or maybe you've had the same problem? ------------------ My Own Private Adrenaline Rush |

Bryant, I'm afraid the o/running clutch has failed. The sealing rings could have broke on the input shaft that feeds the rear clutch, but it would/will die quickly as well. The o/running clutch only is engaged in low with the cheetah. Sorry.

Thanx Leigh! Is this an expensive fix ? Also , if I go back into this trans, wouldnt it be a good idea to upgrade the sprag ? I keep reading something about bolt in sprags, but I really dont understand it all. Y'all keep the info coming, I'm learning !
