Default Pro Sleeper look

Mine would be considered the Pro Sleeper Look. The wife doesn't like things sticking thru the hood.

Mine's more of a 'super street' look, small back tires.

Default Street legal

Right down to the radio and heater....
Well, except for the slicks and I had to take the wiper blades off...they flapped like my Retrievers lips with his head out the window at 70 MPH.

The power comes from a 1967 318, the original 273 heads and rods, Air Gap manifold, Demon 750, Huggins solid cam, bored +.030, Super Comp headers, 8.25/3:91 gears and of course....a DYNAMIC convertor pumping the 727.

It ran a respectable best ET of 12.501 at 107.8 MPH in 2001.

This year we gutted the Old Fish like a Tuna, cut 300+ pounds out of her so far, added a Dana 60/4:56 gear with MW Spool and Summers Bros axles. A set of Goodyear 10X29 slicks on 10" Aluminum Centerlines, The sawzall took care of the wheel tubs and with the springs moved in 3" they seem to fit OK.

A SW Chassis 8 point roll bar (fit like a glove right out of the box). Trans Brake (Dynamic of course), Moroso Line lock, 3 Step REV limiter, Moroso EVAC system, Racing seat, frame connectors and SS springs.....I don't think I would try and drive it on the street anymore....1 brake light and 1 headlight wouldn't cut it with the local Law Man around here.

We're looking at high 11.90's for 2002 season, I believe that this would make it the fastest 318 in existance? Anyone know of a faster 318 door slammer??

Good to be back, I've been gone for several months working on the Fish, I see the Old Gang is still posting away....don't you Guy's ever work on your cars?

Don

Okay BILL THOMPSON! I like you already!
LOL

Your car looks killer!
What times have you gone?
My 1940 Plymouth Coupe with a 440 and cheater tubbed (years ago) weighed 2910 no driver. Did you weigh on a track scale?
Do you have more pics? If you wouldn't mind me posting some on my website you can send me any pics you want.
What are tha specs- tires, rear, gears, anything? I'd love to know!

I'd love to make my Cuda look ProStreet. I personally think that ProStreet cars are much cooler than ProTouring although everyone seems to be shifting in the opposite direction that I am. I swear that the mags are featuring every vintage car with 18s, low-pros, and nice paint. Oh well though, they are still classics and I love 'em all, but i'd rather be riding on QuickTimes than Yokohamas. ProStreet cars also strike fear into the hearts of others, especially imports. I was talking to an BMW M5 driver who enjoys racing ferraris and I asked him if he races any muscle cars. His reply? "Heck no!" Then he specifically mentioned the size of the tires they can have :-). I think if I'm ever sitting on way too much cash I'll try and assemble a ProStreeter.

I own a rusty 70 Roadrunner that I am currently restoring. I'm going to backhalf the car, install a 4-link with a narrowed 9 in Ford (hey, I got it for free!), plus install a rollcage (it really helps when you can do this stuff yourself!) The motor I currently run is a .060 383, the quickest it ran was high 11's (in a Volare.) I am planning a stroker 400 for my next motor. Hope to get some pictures in a bit.

Default cool

Yea marc I saw your 40 it looks great.I'm kind of new to this picture thing took me a while to figure it out still learning.as for the specs it's a 7:1 comp 30 over 383 with forged pistons a complete crane valvetrain ported + polished 906 heads,a 6:71 BDS blower 10 percent underdriven.the trany is a manual shift valve body 727 with kevlar bands + clutches + heavy duty hubs + drums,it has a 2800 stall converter with a heavy duty drive shaft.the diff is a ford 9" with a detroit locker in a WAR housing with resplined axles and it was shortened 22" to accomodate the tires(19.50 33 15 mickeys)the car weighs 5300 lbs empty on a digital scale and it runs 12.80 in highway trim with 3:91 gears.up till this pat two years I run 10000 miles a summer all over canada and the states(bought a house so slowed down a bit).I'll be back out soon.

Since mine is only mini-tubbed (325/50's) its not really a true "pro-streeter". But it is a bit more radical than most cars I pass while out driving.
