It sort of depends on what your rules say and what your budget is. For example, I have a good friend who races the Nascar Late Model division (Nashville). Their rules require a 54 lb. crank and a 350CFM carb. These engines produce all of 350HP!. He has run a stock(slightly lightened) 360 cast iron crank for three years with no problems. Then on the other hand if there is no crank weight rule, you need to get the lightest crank you can find(around 40 lbs.). You need to look for a billet and they are expensive.

Then again there are some rules out there that say 360" with no bore/stroke limitations. If that is the case, you need to look to a big bore/short stroke to get you 360".

It's sorta the same thing with rods. Stock rods generally won't hold up but you have a lot of choices of aftermarket rods. If you must use 2.125" journal, stock weight, then Eagle rods work well. If you can use any rod, any journal, any weight then I would look at Meyer rods with 1.88" journals, 6.25" length, at about 580 grams(for a two barrel carb), 640 grams for a four barrel carb.

I realize I have talked around the answer but it depends on what your rules say, how much you want to bend the rules and what your budget is.

Tell us specifically what your rules are and maybe we can come back with specific recomendations.
