I have a line on an 88 Shelby Z cheap. It needs some work, but the body is in good shape. Since it needs this work, I figured I'd try stuffing a 318 in it. Anyone seen it done? Without converting to RWD? Any advice?

I have just bought a Daytona as well and didnt pay that much for it either. I was wondering about the same thing. From your message, it looks to me like you are trying to determine if you can install a 318 and hook it to the FWD transaxle. I dont know the answer to that one. I suspect that it would be difficult at best. As for converting the car to RWD, that can be done. MP used to sell a kit to do this, but it was discontinued in 98 or 99. MP also sold a kit to convert the car to front steer, which is what you need after converting to RWD, and another kit to convert to a 4.5 bolt pattern. The MP chassis book has a brief section on this swap. From what I read, the kits will get you only so far, there is still a lot of fabricating to
