I have a manual for every vehicle I own except the wife's car. I haven't gotten around to buying one for it yet.

I have one for my Aspen because I run an F/J/M Body Club. I also keep a Mopar Performance Engine book handy as well as a few Mopar engine HP Published Books.

This takes away the guessing game and gives you part numbers when rooting through the junk yard.

I don't have one because when I bought my car it didnt some with one. But I intend on buying one soon though. You can find part #'s easier and helps you figure out what your doing.

Don't have any manuals for my '68 GTX. Was looking at getting one of the Service Manuals on CD. Cost is about 50 bucks. You can then just print out the pages you want to use, and if you get your greasy fingers all over them, or spill on them, you haven't trashed your book. Any experiences with the CD?

Jeez...I have manuals for cars I don't even own anymore. I also have Chilton's manuals, factory parts manuals, performance bulletins, restoration guides, interchange manuals and a few books about Holley carbs. I'd be lost without them.

My cars have so many non factory modifications that "A" service manual is useless. I would have to have dozens for my Dart alone!

I have not been able to find a '73 Dodge factory manual yet - but I did order the '72 version from Year One. It's fine for the Mechanicals, but does not help with body & wiring issues because this stuff changed a lot from 72 to 73. (Anyone got one they are not using?)
I also have the Chilton book on Darts & Demons - which I have had for 20 yrs. & 3 cars. I don't think this one is in print anymore which is too bad because it's a handy "quick reference" tool.
The big score however, came a couple of months ago when I snagged a complete set of tune up & rebuild specification charts for 1967 to 1976 Chrysler engines (ALL of them) from the local Auto-electric service shop. I happened to be in there buying some gaskets and they were throwing them away! Seems they are no longer interested in servicing vehicles older than 1985. I had already missed the steering, suspension & brake systems binders. Oh well

Hey, Canuck Dart, I have both '73 Dodge manuals I'll sell you for US$50.00 + shipping if you're still needing them. E-mail me with a response. One is the body/wiring, the other is the mechanicals. I bought these from a Chrysler dealer in 1985 and are in good condition.

Im with Billydelrio, my '65 has '68 guts, '69 legs, '84 brain, '67 shoes (2 sizes) and a '64 ass (rear end)..Oh yeah a '66 shop manual with a '65 electrical schematic gleened from the internet (webfox.com?) taped in the back cover. When I needed a power steering pump, I had to look at his picture book!! One more thing, when I registered it in CA after 15 years in a warehouse, it registered as a '91 Plymouth Barracuda! Tell that to the traffic court judge! The '66 manual proved invaluable with its exploded power brake picture, Chilton's would say "replace if faulty"..big help...

I have Factory Service Manuals (about six) for most of my cars/trucks (except for the 1969 Coronet.)
I also have the Mopar performance Engine and Chassis books, Galens White books, a bunch of chiltons repair books, several specific topic automitive books from HP Books and S-A Design like Auto Math, how to hot rod your xxx, Desktop Dynos, Materials, welding, painting, etc.
Add to that several book shelves of Hot Rod, Car Craft, PHR, Mopar Action, Mopar Muscle, HPM, Performance for the Chrysler car enthusiast, and Chrysler Power magazine, plus some others I picked up but din't subscribe to.
Of course, I also have my Physics and math books on the shelves next to the atuo books.
One of the most useful books I have is small and cheap, it is called "Avogadro's Numbers", published by Indelible Ink (305 W. Mercury, Butte, Montana 59701, ph# 406/723-4061.)
It has conversion factors, Materials propertys, commercial data, and mechanical and engineering formulas all in a shirt pocket sized book.

I've always bought manuals for my vehicles, but they were always the Chiltons or Haynes. This time, for the Challenger, I bought the repro factory manuals from Year One. What a difference! I thought I was saving money with the cheaper manuals, but like they say, you get what you pay for.
