I have a 99 durango w/ a 5.2L engine. I am looking for a shift upgrade for my automatic transmission, a new computer module and a thermostat to go along with it. I also was also wondering if you can tow with the mopar performance chip installed. Does it affect your shifting or just timing. What is the best air intake system?

Hey JAW;
MoPar performance sells a kit for the tranny, P5249640 for the A-500 lock up tranny and for the A-518 its P5249641. You should have the A-500 in the truck. Check to make sure. As far as the computer go's, there are 4 to chose from. It depends on the model of the truck. EX: 2 or 4 wheel drive and if it has California emmissions or not. Tell me and I'll give you a part number. Also, you can tow, but, you need to run 93 octane to use the computer. It will advance the timeing. I do not think it moves the shifting. Not sure about that. The best air intake system I have heard of is the K&N unit. Ask around in the truck fourm on this. Robert Shaw has hi-flow thermostats for Mopars. |
