741 case gear vendors
Where can I find some gears for my 741? Yeah, I know they are the low performance cases, but I already have a sure-grip setup so...Also, do I have a fine spline or a course spline on my pinion? I have yet to get that bastard flange nut off, Im only 160 lbs wet! I have broken 2 angle iron yoke support jigs in the process. Thanks

Well a plumbers bumper mounted vise and a 28 inch breaker bar twisted that nut and a 5 lb sledge took care of the yoke. It is a fine spline and the big bearing looks good. The pattern looks ok, sure is shiny (!) not worn though, but the smaller "front" bearing is worn out. That makes me feel alot better actually finding a worn part down there. Next stop, the Timken dealer for a replacement bearing. Randy doesnt show a 741 set but I didnt call, Ebay is not the place I would want to buy a gear set.
