Question P/N 4028824 - Transmission Question

Hi

I am told that the Chrysler P/N 4028824 , was a lock-up 727 transmission that was introduced in 1978. I believe that it was used behind the standard performance 400's in B body wagons and some C bodies.

The Gent who kindly gave me this information also tells me that this P/N was the only Big Block Lock-Up 727 offered by Chrysler at any time - DO YO AGREE AND IF NOT DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER PART NUMBERS?

Regards to all.

Cool

Choper,

I agree, the gentleman was correct in everything he told you. The transmission was the only lockup type ever put behind a big block. You are correct about it being used behind the standard performance 400, it was never behind the 440. The transmissions behind the hi-performance big blocks (440 and 400) in 1978 were non-lockup. If I remember correctly 1978 was the last year the big block was offered in a passenger car. You could still get a big block in a truck in '79 though.

Hope this helps
