Local racer has engine for sale. It was a water block KB fuel engine, 1471 blower, used in an NHRA funny car. It was sold to a guy who used it in a drag boat, I think it was swithed to alcahol. It is now on the shop floor of a third owner with rod through the block. Camshaft is broke. All else seems good but I don't really know what I'm looking at. Not familliar with this level of equipment. Was thinking of an engine for truck pulls but this is way beyond my budget. Then I talked to the owner and he only wants a few thousand for it. Anybody know what it takes to fix a hole in a KB block? This guy says about a thousand will do it.

I'd be wary of it. It's really hard to tell if it can even be fixed without tearing it down. I think the water blocks are much harder to fix. Sounds like a boat anchor to me.
