Specific CHARGER info !

I talked to a Chrysler VP at the Detroit show today - we spent about 5 minutes talking about the Dodge Charger ! We talked how the "retro" look was back in style - The PT Cruiser look (they had a woody wagon look at the show), the new style T-bird, Chevy has rolled out an older style Bel Air concept car, Ford Forty Niner update was at the show again this year etc.....

He said a Charger should be out in 2 years - they are currently working on a 2 door car based on the LH series line of vehicles (like the Intrepid).

He also said they have played around with the 4 door version some, but the main idea was based on the 2 door.

It definately will be rear wheel drive.

And it will have a V8. When I specifically asked about whether or not the HEMI would be an option - he said, we will have to wait and see.

When I took out a pen to make some notes on our conversation - he said -Whoa, this is off the record and said that I could not use his name - but I can tell you this: he is one of the Vice Presidents - so this is not just idle gossip from some guy handing out Mopar flyers !!!

God I hope this is true.


I just can't imagine them not building after all the postive coments out there about the car. But I'm not holding my breath.
