what is the maximum HP that a NEW cast crank take? I am on a budget and need a new crank and can get a deal from EPW for one. It is a 69 Dart GTS 340 that I am transplanting a 360 into. the 360 is going to be mild, it is bored 30 over and i was planning on just putting new bearings in but they are bad and so is the crank, the crank has already been turned .010 under and i am told that i can't cut it anymore without it breaking if it see's any kind of romping.thanks

Professionally balanced and lightweight rotating assy should take 800 HP. At least 600 is not a biggie.

I talked to Scat about the new 4" stroker crank that they make for Mopar Performance. It's only $300 and they said it will easily handle 750 horsepower.

I have read and was told that 600hp is about the ceiling on a cast crank. More is possible. I think that should do ya fine, huh?
