srp pistons for 440
have a 69 440 for my 6-bbl car and will be rebuilding it soon. was wondering about the srp pistons.who makes them and what about cost.would like to get about 100 hp more out of this motor with 6-pack ,906 heads and stock manifolds.i just thought that over the past 35 years that i should be able to squeeze490 horses out of a 440 on pump gas.the stock bore 6-pack motor i have in car now is like a rocket ship in stock form so anything i can add to this other motor would be better.

srp pistons are made by JE pistons. they are a great piston, we sell them alot. i would go with Edelbrock heads vs. 906 heads. use the comp cams extreme energy 284 and you should have 510 hp. as long as your other components work. Brian

I'm thinking of getting a set of the SRPs for my 440 also. How much do you sell them for? Thanks! |
