I ran 9.70s on et streets with no tubes..also run 9.70 on et slicks with no tubes ... It's kinda up to you.. I never had a problem running without tubes......They would go flat in three or 4 days, so your always adding air to them ....Lee....

I have had many sets of ET Streets, never used tubes. I have had some that didn't leak at all, the current set holds the air about a couple of weeks.

I run the ET Streets without tubes & do not experience any leakage problems at all. I'm not entirely happy with their performance, but they hold air just fine!

Thumbs up

I run them without tubes, on new Centerline rims and have had no leakage problems at all
When I first ran them (new rims and tires) the tire did spin on the rim about 1".
I purchased some rim screws, but never installed them as the tires seem to quit moving on the rim.
The tires have pretty good traction for a DOT tire. Just do not drive in the rain with them!

Anyones guess?
It all depends on how much traction your current tires get, and how much the new tires would get. If your current tires get really good traction the improvement may not be much.
If you spin the tires quite a bit the new tires should help (but I don't know what tires you have for comparison?)

On my car, the best I did with BFG street radial T/A tires (275x60x15",tredwear=400, pretty hard cmpound) was a 13.0 second ET, and the car was not consistent due to traction problems. With these tires I had to get off the throttle after launch, then ease back into the throttle.
With the M/T street ET's I can run mid 12's consistently. These tires are a tad shorter at 26x11.5x15". I still can not launch the car as hard as I would like, but the Street ET tires are much better than my hard compound BFG's. With the M/T tires I bring the engine upto 1,500 RPM and hit the gas on the last yellow. I have tried launching above 1,500 RPM, but that usually results in smoking the tires. In fact, sometimes if the starting line is not well preped the tires will break traction for a moment when I first hit the gas from my normal launch RPM.

OD, what sort of 60' times are you running on your street tires, what is your launch RPM & what is your trap speed on the 12.70's run?

It's easier to make a guess with the above info.

Sounds like you are dialed in pretty close. With the ET Streets I would expect low to mid 1.70's in the 60' & somewhere in the 12.4's ET. Your trap speed indicated that with the short tire & 4.10's you may be running out of pulling power on the far end. That's my guess, FWIW.

These tires will definitely help you, but don't be expecting huge improvements with your setup. Good luck.

I run 28x11.5x15 e.t. streets on my 11.63 duster with 4:30 gears, with tubes. As long as i get a good burnou they hook up, 1.58 60'. I run tubes for the safety factor because i also drive on the street.

I drive in the streets too nad do not use any other tire. We managed to get a 1.50 60 ft with the 10.5/26/15 ET Streets in a 3530 lbs car with 3.91 gears and SS springs, which I think is next to unbelievable. My car run 1.40 with 13.5/30/15's and SS springs, 4.10 gears and 3330 lbs.

I run tubes in my hoosier d.o.t. cheater slicks, seems a lot safer. If you cut a tire at 115 wouldn't it be better to have a tube? Whats the ET difference with and w/o tubes, next to nothing?
