No word yet, but it is supposedly competitive with the Lightning. I would say somewhere in the 30s. I can't imagine it would be in the 40s. IMO, that would price it right out of the market. Will see...

I agree with Tom, it is being built to compete directly with the Lightning, so look for the price to be roughly $30-35k.....and it will mop up the floor with the Ford!!

have you guys looked at the list of spec's on this truck?
it's a viper with a ram body on it and different wheels.
i bet it costs around 60-80k. and there is no way it is being built to compete with the ford lightning, because it's gonna be a helluva lot faster than any lightning out there.
it makes 500 hp...that's more than a corvette z06..and it's a halfton truck.

The Dodge website - http://www.4adodge.com/autoshow/news_events/srt10/ has the details of the show exhibit, and there's some specs here http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/auto.../ramsrt10.html

do you know any car companies that wanna sell a vehicle equipped with a fully aluminum 8.3L V10 engine pushing 500 hp and 500 ft/lb's of torque, a braking system fit for lemans racing, a fully independant rear suspension with a 6 speed transmission and 24" wheels and tires for under 70k?

and saying this is in the same class as the lightning is like saying that the viper is in the same class as the mustang.

how much more expensive is the viper than the mustang, btw? and the lightning is mostly mustang derived parts and the srt-10 truck is mostly viper derived parts.
either way, you'll see if and when the truck ever hits production.

im in hawaii and the lightnings here cost $42000!!!! $10000 above msrp and no negitions. i really hope that truck will be priced to be competive with the lightning, i agree with roadrunnerluva, theres no way i would pay 60 or 70 for a truck. but i also see youre point too 69dodgedart360. it could go either way, IMO it will be priced the same or a little more than the lightning. that would be the smart thing to do anyway. and mr smith here are some pics for you to chew on.

gentelmen, i was at the show last sunday and talked to on of the platform team members an she( yes, she) told me that they have a tentative msrp price at about 36,500. they will start out producing about 500 in the first 6 months.there will only be 4 coulors that you can order them in, and only one set of road wheels. as far as ordering them, well you know whats gonna happen, be prepared to to pay possibly anywhere between 3000 to 5000 more over the sticker price. sound familiar?

That price would fall in line with what I've heard. It will have a solid rear axle. Don't look for those 24s to make it either. They look clownish. Remember this is a 5000lb truck! It will "only" trap in the 105-108mph range. Faster than a L to be sure, but not out of its league.(analagous to a stock GT vs LS1)It will rightfully command a higher price due to more performance, but not weigh out there. Who would buy a 2WD standard cab 1/2 ton for 40-50 grand? It just wouldn't sell. The Viper motor is a lot cheaper to build than you think. DC makes a huge profit with it.

thats the BIG reason its gonna sell at that price. the viper motor has come along way the last 4 years. they can produce that motor in in quantities now and sell it all day long. i'll bet you'll see some dude thats got money to burn and try to shoehorn one in a stratus or neon!!!!

Yeah, really... we are one big family here. I wonder if they would give us a gruop discount. Wouldn't that be nice if the first group buy allowed on this site was the truck.
By the way, I wonder if we are ever going to be allowed to use private mails and the members list ??

I talked to a big wig at mopar.....he said first truck to be built in may.... 1500 trucks the first year and the upping it to 2500 second year.. he would not say the price!! but i think dealers will be upping the price on the first ones like they did on the viper in 94... Hell one dealer here had a 94 priced at 250.000 and here is the bad part.....HE sold it for 200,000!!! what a rip off !!! I want one bad but i'll wait and get a used one at half price...

this may? at the release they said it wouldnt be out until shortly after the new viper which is coming out in the fall. also i read on a website that production would not be limited, of course its all speculation. thats site also said it wouldnt be out until late 2003 as maybe a 04 model so take it for what its worth. i dont really believe it. anyway Lee maybe you could ask youre contact if the truck could be purchased under the "A" plan for me. and somebody get on that group buy thing ill be alll over it
