'67 Belvedere Slick Clearance
Does anyone out there know what size of slick or M/T ET Streets will fit into a STOCK wheelwell on a '67 Belvedere? Also list if an offset wheel was used for extra clearance.
Thanks in advance! |

with 1/2" wheel spacers you can get 10.50x15x28 in no problem.

I have hoosier 26x9.5x15 and i have plenty of room. If your suspension is set up correctly it wont matter what size slick you run in these cars. I have ss springs with coil overs and they plant like flypaper. It's funny cause guys ask me why I run such small tires but when you keep the 26" tall you keep your gear ratio the taller the tire the more you lose.

On my 67 hemi gtx i ran m/t 26 by 9.00 on a 7 inch cop wheels... they would rub chrome trim on turns, they where ok if you ran 28 pounds in them for the return home trip...Lee...

The worst thing about the wheel wells on a 66-67 Plymouth B body is the openings are cut low, and if you have 11" rear drums, the lack of separation bewteen the opening and the drum make putting a large set of tires under one a royal pain in the posterior. I ran my 67 GTX with 10.00 X 28 M & H Racemasters and they were a tight fit even with the lip of the fender & stainless trim cut back.

Hi, my previous car was '67 Satellite. I had 8.5" Centerline Auto Drags with 47/8" backspacing and 275/60-15 MH Racemasters. Very tight fit with 11" drumbrakes!

Hey there brother,
I have a '67 Belvedere II and I am currently using the BF Goodrich Drag radial's that are P235 60 R15. The backspacing on our Belvedere's is 4 7/8" of back spacing. So you can get a fairly wide tire under there but mostly taller for gear ratio. I have 4.10's in my 8 3/4 rear end. "But", you can only go with an 8 1/2" wide rim and that's it. For stock anyway. I will be going up to a P255 60 R15 tire soon for the gear ratio to drop just a hair. Any questions reply back. Scott |

Sorry I am not trying to change the subject, but seeing as only those with this particular car would respond I have to take advantage of it. Again I apoligize.
Does anyone have the front hood trim for a 67 Belvedere for sale. If you do please let me know. Thanks, Ron. |

I am not sure I understodod your reply but, I do have a '67 Belvedere and my post or reply to the post I mentioned that you have 4 7/8" backspacing and can run up to 8 1/2" wide rims and tire height isn't a problem. God bless. |
