I have a 97 Ram 1500 with the 5.9L V8 and all of the extra cooling devices that come with the towing package. I have always had trouble keeping it cool, especially while pulling a trailer. Any Suggestions??

Need more information on your cooling problem. 1) What size t-stat do you have?
2) does the truck have a/c and is it on 3) how heavy is the trailer 4) do you have an electric fan or a viscious fan, how many blades, 5) Is your fan shroud intact.6) is you fuel system (02 sensor) working 7) is your catalytic convertor partly clogged These are some of the questions you need to ask to find a cooling system problem. |

Thanks for the input, I have a 180 degree thermostat, viscous fan with 5 blades, the fan shroud is intact, the A/C is on usually, my trailer weighs approximatly 3,500 pounds, and I don't know about the O2 sensor or the catalytic converter, but the OBD2 does not give me any codes to suggest there is a problem with either one.
