tire size
I just purchased a 1978 Crewcab that has 4-10 gears and I need to pick up the speed a little, what size tire can I put under the truck without a lift to gain the speed and what kind of increase can I expect?

im not sure about anything technical but, it depends on what you mean by speed
the smaller the tire the better the accelleration but it sacrifices top speed visa versa the other way... big tires, slower accelleration but faster top speed |

tires
A few years ago I had a 74 W200 with 4.10 gears. I ran 235-85-16 tires on 16x7 wheels. They gave good highway performance but it also didnt sacrifice all of my low end power.
