Question

Can you tell, I'm enjoying this site ? (I also check out www.sportruck.com for info) - but this is my last posting for today . . .

I would like to learn more about performance truck tires. I had a set of Yokohama AVS but my truck ate those for lunch. The rubber compound seems soft (of course, my lead foot didn't help).

On my 92 Ford ***kup, I had a set of Dunlop GT Qualifiers - but again - after about a years time (and with regular rotations) those tires were just about used up . . .

I like the way Pirelli Scorpions look and have read some articles on how well the seem to last. Anyone used them ?

How about BF Goodrich - they make a T/A Sport Truck tire - anyone used / using them ? How well are they holding up ?

I would like to eventually fill up some of that wheel well with big meaty street/sport tires (My Dunlops were 275/60's - I think the 16X8 factory rims will take a little wider tire than that.)

Thanks for you help with my project.

My Indyram came with factory 17x9 wheels and 275/60/17 Goodyear GTII tires. True to Goodyear form these things lasted about 20,000miles and were completely gone. Being that I hate Goodyear, I bought BFG Comp T/A HR4's (275/60/17) and love them. They are quieter, stickier and have lasted several thousand miles and have the same tread depth that they did when they were new, well the fronts do anyways, the rears are a little less but not as much as I would have expected considering the tire turning the truck does. I have had BFG's on every car I have owned and have never had a complaint. Definately go with the BFG's.
