Default Are these tires big enough?

Okay... Switching motors in my '72 Cuda Super Pro Car... Car weighs 2730 at race weight w/driver...
(Lot's of fiberglass)...
Car ran 11.99 with mild 440 at Bandimere (5800 Ft Above)...
I'm Switching to a 505 stroker (620 HP)...
Car has 727 w/4000 stall converter with 440...
8 3/4 rear w/ Mark Williams axels - spool / 4.10 gears...
Super Stock Springs...

Car already lifts one wheel with a 1.70 60 ft time..... launching at 3600 RPM....
... running 29.50/11.50X15 ET DRAGS on rear w/ Weld Wheels... (Mini-Tub)....

Will these tires do it?
I'm guessing the car will run around 10.70...at this altitude.
What other problems will I encounter... First time with this much motor for me... I do have a throttle stop on car but I'm not using it for ET Bracket Racing...

How did you Mini-Tub an E-Body. I was told this couldn't be done. I looked and the frame rails come within about an inch or so of the inside of the stock wheel wells. No room to tub it. Did you relocate the frame rails?
I have a Challenger that I'd like to put some 10" Weld Pro-Stars on the back w/ 5" BS and 29x12x15 ET Streets on, so I'd really appreciate some advice.
Thanks. Sorry I couldn't answer your question, except with another question!!

KOS cars run 8's on 10.5 slicks, so you should be okay.

I think that the tire will do just fine just keep the 4.10 gears in it. But you will have to work with tire pressure and launch RPM to get the best 60 Ft.

Default Hey, it's the guy in the yellow 70 Duster (Mike)

My running 26x10.5x15 and they are hooking with 1.5 60' and 11.0 in the 1/4.

Weren't you Pro ET last season?

BTW, with my 438 in a 2800 lb Duster, I'm making about 400-420 RWHP, which is about 500 at the crank.

If it all hooks up (620hp at the crank), you should be closer to 10.4.

How is the project going? You only have 2 1/2 more months till Bandimere opens...

Hey, how's it going Hybridman....

Nah... I ran R/T with the Challenger... I just have to put some new valve springs in this thing and maybe redo the fuel system...
and it should be ready to go this year...

The other car (Orange Cuda) run's in Super Pro ... Air shifted and delay box... oh yeah and a throttle stop which I may tinker with on the new motor... You are making 500 HP at the crank in Denver?... That's alot... What's in that 438? Compression? Heads?

I'm guessing that the torque on this big inch motor will be alot to launch with... Once I get going it should be a blast!!!!
Time is getting short and I have not had a chance to get started...
Neighbors don't like me, Car's are too loud for them and they call the cops on me when I fire them up, even for a minute! I'm in the process of moving out of Highlands Ranch and out to Elizabeth where no one will care if I have some fun!!! Should close on the new house in March... So time will be really short!!!

13.5:1 compression, 906 heads with 2.14, 1.88 valves, home ported.

Sorry I mixed up your green challenger with the "girlfriends" orange cuda.

Is she gonna race with the big cube motor, or R U?

Good luck with the house.

Still got to get together for a beer, been filppen' busy!

The 500hp is a swag based on 11.01 at 122. Those on-line hp estimators throw out 390-420 RWHP based on a 2800# car & driver.

I have no idea if I'm making 500 hp at the crank. I'm more concerned with my 1/4 mile time.

See ya!

Mike

Know the feelin... I've been working ton's of hours myself...

Yes, she (Finacee')is going to drive the Orange Cuda... Scary huh... She has no fear anyways... she's already broken 23 bones in her life (Grand Prix HorseBack Riding)... I hope I set the car up right so it isn't dangerous... Anyways, I could use a beer...

I'm pretty excited to get a FULL season of racing in this year... Last year I worked on my car almost the whole season and ran the Fall Series... Although the car did run good... I love shifting that Hemi 4 speed... Nobody seems to think you can be consistent with a manual tranny but that Challenger run's right on all the time.... Good Luck and I'll see ya around!
