Default pilot bushing

hi does anyone know of a roller or needle brg that will fit a s/b in place of the pilot bushing ??

I just read someplace that a cheebie roller piloot bearing will work if you hog out the back of your crank a couple of thousandths. Pleas don't rely on my info, but you could check it out. Good luck from... Doug

I've seen it before on this subject and hope to see it once again. Someone had said there is a newer pilot bearing that comes from a Ram? that enables the SB to use the A833 trans without having to machine the end of the crank for bearing clearance. I believe they even gave a part number? Maybe I can search through that thread (auto vs. 4 spd - "Ausydad") and see if I can find it. I'm sure that's where it was. I'll be back.


O.K., I've went back and looked in that thread, and lo and behold, there it was! According to Thunderstruck in that thread, the bearing is called a sleeve, and has a Mopar part number of 53009180. Pricing is very reasonable. I too wanted to look at this and hope for the best. Supposed to be from a late model Ram. Good Luck!

go to your local Dodge dealer and order on of these two and your troubles are solved.
