Small block hp!!!
I recently built a small block for a friend(6 mos ago). I actually ran this motor for 4 yrs before a sold it to him. The motor ran consistent 11.20's with these mods:
72 340 block, X heads ported by myself w/2.08 int 1.60 exh valves & 63cc chambers, stock rods,Venolia 11 to 1 pistons, Lunati steel crank(3.42 stroke), Holley strip dominator intake, 1050 Dominator carb. I rebuilt the motor for him and he wanted to run a 200 hp NOS kit with it. So I got the block o-ringed, used copper head gaskets, studded the heads and mains. He has the motor in a 3100 lb Dart and only has run 1/8 mi. The car runs 7.12 to 7.15 on motor. But on the bottle it ran a 6.58 and he let out of it a few feet from the finish line!! Is this thing flying or what!!!! Head gaskets are holding amazingly well and all vital signs look good on it. If you're wondering about the odd stroke on the crank it was custom made for me. I wanted to experiment on r/s ratios, compression heights, etc. This motor actually works out to be a 355. I thinks when we fine tune it we'll see some 6.40's. BTW, the car has leaf springs, 727, and 4500 A1 converter. Wedgehead |

Sounds like a great running motor,if youll go to Prestage.com youll find alot of car math calculators, although they dont have one for 1/8th mile hp,to convert multiply 1/8 et by 1.5,although this is an estimation itll get you close,7.15 x 1.5=10.72 which in a 3100lb car(w/driver correct?) equals 500 rear wheel hp,not bad!! on the bottle its a 9.82 1/4 corrected which equals nearly 660 rear wheel hp,thats flying!!!!!!!!.........PRO......
