When is qualifying for Sunday???

When are they going to qualify Thrus, or Fri, I was just wondering cause Im all geared up for this fresh new season to start, does everyone else feel the same way? Why is NASCAR starting with the Budweiser Shootout first instead of Daytona??

The Bud shootout is a non-points race based on last year's performance, so it's sort of like the NFL Pro-Bowl. It's just one event during SpeedWeeks that culminates with the 500.

The Daytona 500 does not use the usual qualifying rules, but instead determines positions via two 125 mile qualifying races on Thursday.

Okay, you caught me in a senior moment!

Qualifying is actually a combination of speed and the 125's. The two fastest sit on the front row, then come the winners of the 125's and I think they go back to about 30th based on where they finished in the qualifying races. After that, I think it goes by speed.

Hey, it's been a whole year! I can remember the 300's running on the beach, but can't remember what I walked into the other room to get just a few minutes ago.

BTW, the starting line-up for the Bud Shootout will be determined by a draw on Thursday.........
