Question Dummie questions For 360

OK First just need to let you know what I do have. It appears to be a stock 360 engine. 2bbl holley. Etc.

The kicker is that its in a VERY HEAVY car. .......... In this corner weighing in at 6300lbs we have 77 Gran Furyyyyyyyyy!

Here is the list I have put together so far.
1 Thermo quad 750 carb.... Its a daily driver.
2 Performer intake and cam kit 270 duration
3 msd Ignition system the 6a
4 K&N filter.

I'm going to hook up an electric motor to the exhaust to run the turbine to pull the exhaust out ... hence straight pipe effect without the LOUD noise.

I need help with Identifying my current parts.. like what cfm does the holley 2bbl I have run at. what camshaft do I have What rear end do I have and What is my Rpm range. Also How do I raise that Rpm range, (Ignition system)??.... All help will be appreciated greatly!!!

Dubya, C

I have never seen a car that heavy. my 77 Newport weighed in at 4900lb. Is that from a scale or the GVWR on the door sticker?

My Ramcharger with no gas or people in it only weighs 4900. I can't guess what my Imperial weighs - must be around 13,000??

I hope he was joking.

You don't really need to worry about what your current parts are or do, unless you want to keep them.

Is this incredibly heavy car going to have to pass smog checks?

The stock 360 2bbls are junk... drop kick it into the nearest garbage can.

The performer as about the same performance as a stock 4bbl intake. If you're going to get an aftermarket intake why not get one with some more ooomph to it. Also TQs are 800 and 850 (and I think it was 1000 for the aftermarket one).

I don't know what you got planned with the exhaust, but they usually flow pretty well on their own. Putting a fan or anything in it wouldn't do much good and would probably just gum up quick with the exhaust going through it. If you got cats and that's why just consider getting a hi flow one on there. If you don't need the cat just ditch it, won't make it that loud (and if it does just put a better muffler on it or a resonator).

Default heavy car

That seems a little excessive, I have a 74 W300 with dana 70's front and rear and that only weighs 5850 with half a tank of gas and no one in it. you sure thats not the gvwr??

Default warm it up??

if you are looking to "warm up" this 360 here are my suggestions...

#1 change your cam to one between 204-218@.050",no more than that since it is a daily driver

#2 change your intake to a MoPar performance M1 manifold with a carter 650-700

#3 increase your compression to 9:1

#4 add small tube headers(1 5/8?) 2" duals and a "H" pipe and Flowmaster mufflers

#5 put 3.55-3.73 gears in it

#6 keep your 904 till it pukes,then put in a 727,perhaps with a 2000 rpm stall converter??

I agree with freek accept;

1. 2 1/4 inch pipe and

2. Hooker Aero chambers. They flow better.

carter makes a 600-625-750 cfm carbs. The 625 will be fine.
