I've been reading these boards since I bought my R/T and have found them very informative. You guys (and gals, if any) are great.
I'm a first time truck and DC product owner, and I'd like to say the last time. But unfortunately I do not see any other truck options open to me. The full size are too big and the smalls, well too small. I'm really bummed by the Dakota R/T towing problem. I'll save all of you the detail which you most likely already know and get right to my question. Can any one out there definitively tell me why a Dakota R/T is limited to towing 2000 lb? |

I've heard it was because of the rear spring rate, but that shouldn't cut the towing capacity that much,so it is a interesting question.

I'm in the middle of having my R/T bought back by DC. The reason is the rear suspension has been lowered, so with 2" less suspension, the frame will rest on the bump stops. At full capacity it will be resting on them all the time, and over time weaken the frame from the constant slamming of the bump stops.
