what is the life expectancy of the fan clutch on a 95 ram with a 360 magnum? I think mine is going out. Iam getting ready to do the diagnosis as outlined in the factory manual. but it seams this clutch should last a little longer then 4 years. we are having a hot day here in san diego and when the temp gauge goes above the 200 mark about two times the needle width you can't here the engine roar. what do you guys and gals think.

My temp gauge runs in the same area a lot here around Houston. Your right about the roar of the engine if the clutch is bad. It would sound like maybe the trans going bad. The engine would sound like it is waiting for another shift. With the engine off, spin the fan with your hand. The fan should not turn any more than 1 fan blade width ( about 4 inches)after you let go of it. If it turns more than a half turn, you might ought to replace it. Also check the deflection by moving the fan with your hand side to side and top to bottom for anything that might be a sign of bad bearings. I hope this helps.
