Default Cam Info

Is anyone using CompCams #21-243-4 in their big block? The specs are 305 (253@ .050) .525 and 110LSA. I haven't decided on a cam yet but I think it'll be this one or Isky's with very similar specs. I'd like to know how streetable and how powerfull this cam is. Thanks..............djs

im using the isky 292 mega cam in my 440. its a step down from the 305 its very streetable i actually thought the cam was smaller then it was till i pulled the motor apart and checked the specs. if your motor is set up with enough comp and head work it should be ok

Fastback340, I'm currently using mopar 292/509. It's a great cam but I'm looking for more power (read better et.) I've got more than enough compression and head work for a bigger grind, but this car is complete and is a streeter so I just want to be sure I don't go overboard. I don't care if the idle is a bit fast or lumpy, I've got a good converter to handle that. thanks for your help. Anyone else? Dartsport-I'm sure we'll all say a prayer for you .......djs

dont mind dart sport he spent a little to much time breathing in fumes from the fords he use to own. . as for the cam you might want to look in to solid cams if you dont mind the lash adjustment

Fastback340; well at least now dartsport is running the right brand! I hope the damage from his Ford era isn't permanent! I don't want to run a solid cam because then I'll have to purchase an adjustable valve train and I just want to keep the stock stuff till I build a 400 stroker. Thanks again.......djs
