Stroker rods
What's the best way to build a 400 sroker? 440 rods and short pistons or 400 rods and longer pistons? Also, I know the 440 main journals have to be machined smaller to fit the 400 block-my local machine shop can do this for me-but what about cutting down the counter weights to clear the block/piston skirts? How exactly is this done???........djs

The long rods with the pin higer in the piston will give a better rod angle and may be easier to clear the counters on the crank.
