My friend has a 99 DAK stick shift and sometime - all by itself - it pops out of gear.

Ever heard of this problem ? What's the remedy ?

RAMMAN
Just noticed your question yesterday
so i did some digging and found a t.s.b
concerning this problem. The t.s.b # is 21-03-99 and applies to Dakotas and Ram trucks
with nv3500 trans built before dec.21/98
and transmissions built before dec 01/98
date code 3308 or lower. It talks about the
trans "popping" out of 1rst gear. The problem
appears to be the 1-2 shift fork.
(it could be the wrong one)I'm not sure how
that happens.
Hope this helps.
